Abstract

In this paper we aim to confirm that, despite the good distribution of existing equipment in Portugal, there is an imbalance between images execution and interpretation and if this uneveness can be mitigated by technology based solutions. For that, a quantitative analysis of statistical data is made and , based on the results, it is created a set of scenarios for the evolution of radiology in Portugal, with development axis considering the evolution based in the allocation of human resources and technological adoption. The most advanced of these scenarios points out to the creation of an imaging exams based on teleradiology that connects buyers and sellers of the image interpretation through the use of a broker that dynamically connects the players.
