This paper discusses the main concepts of tourism and cultural itineraries and their impact on destinations. It identifies the target market and its behaviour. Particular emphasis is given to the elaboration of a circuit and the importance of developing a cultural itinerary in the city of Oporto. It also aims to characterize the tourist who visits this city. This case study reflects the work of urban development and architecture held by João de Almada and Francisco de Almada. This paper also characterizes the buildings and the urban development, important to the elaboration of the so-called Almadino itinerary.
