Abstract
This article aims to introduce the potential of DEA – Data Envelopment Analysis method as one of the main key performance indicators in the analysis of business performance in the banking sector. Considering the consistency of its results, it is a benchmarking tool of enormous potential to compare performances between different banking business units, since the study is carried out by distinct market segments defined in the segmentation matrix of the financial institution. With this method, it is possible to efficiently streamline the ratio of revenues over costs, allowing to obtain benchmarks aimed at making business units more efficient in terms of revenues and costs.
