Abstract

This paper deals with the general concepts of tourism and cultural circuits, as well as their impact on destinations. It defines the target type of public, and their behavior. Special emphasis is given to how to proceed to the elaboration of a circuit, as well as the importance of the cultural circuit to the city of Oporto. It will characterize the tourist that more often searchs for this city. This case study reflects the work of João de Almada and Francisco de Almada, its political and ideological framework, as well as the work developed in Oporto at the level of urbanization and architecture. This paper also characterizes the buildings, as well as presents plants of the town, important to the elaboration of the called Almadino circuit.
