Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to understand the cinema’s pedagogic relevance for social work education. After seeking for movie’s specificity, the canonic distinction between facts and fictions is questioned. It is also stated that cinema is brilliantly competent in breaking the day-by-day indifference, and, at the end, a declaration is made – supported by various examples (movies) related with poverty and other social problems: social cinema exists.
