In the last years mediation has been one of the most interesting issues for professionals who work in Social Work themes. It is a preventive method to cope with conflicts, a new way to understand interpersonal relations. Mediation is based on the acceptance of individuals’ differences, through self-determination and responsibility, conducting to a more co- operative and pacific sociability. It is, definitively, a culture of peace in which communication, dialogue and consensus assume a leading role. The finality is to create a better development of individuals and an adequate social integration.
