Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At a time when international trade has acquired increasing importance for the Portuguese economy, this paper provides a brief historical overview about a product \u2013 Port Wine \u2013 which had a particularly relevant role in the Portuguese exports. Today, this product is still one of the country\u2019s brand image abroad. Linked to the international trade, it also arises the classic role of Customs including here the traditional procedures and custom duties related with exports, which are also now briefly reviewed, taking also into account the current European integration of the Portuguese economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
