Drawing on a theoretical framework supported by national and international scientific literature, the paper explores the potential strengths and limitations of this training practice, highlighting the importance of coordination between higher education institutions and business entities. Based on empirical data regarding the profile of internships carried out at ISCET, the article also discusses the lack of remuneration and its impacts on equity and accessibility to professional opportunities.
