Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The core of this paper is the resolution of a case study with implications of different nature: legal, managerial and even ethical. Our approach, however, we will focus on the legal aspect. With this case, considering that it occurred under the Portuguese legislation, we aimed to determine whether the position adopted by the health professionals involved in this process was acceptable, defensible and correct. For this purpose, an approach on the user\u2019s rights, principles involved, such as the principle of self- determination, religious freedom, and the informed consent provided by a patient was carried out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
